Toni Castel is of counsel to MWH.  She is based in Atlanta, Georgia.  She works to facilitate the entry of foreign corporations and investors into the U.S. market and to assist small to medium-sized businesses with their international business needs.  She addresses the business immigration needs of employers from a strategic perspective.  She works with employers to monitor immigration compliance issues, such as I-9 audits, and to file petitions for nonimmigrant and immigrant (green card) visas on behalf of key foreign national employees.  She also assists businesses with their international trade and business needs, such as the negotiation and execution of commodity deals, distributorship and other representation agreements, franchise agreements, and other cross-border deals.

Toni is uniquely suited to this area of practice as she is multilingual and is very experienced at working with persons of multicultural background.  Recently, Toni was chosen by her peers as a “Rising Star” in the Atlanta Magazine and she recently established the South African American Chamber of Commerce of the Southeast for whom she will serve as President 2009-2010.  The Chamber will serve as the primary portal for all business moving between the United States and South Africa (and in many cases, into Africa from South Africa).

She has served on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers since 2006.  Toni has also won numerous awards from GAWL for her participation.  Toni is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the Atlanta Bar, the Georgia State Bar and she was elected by her peers as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

Finally, in 2009, Toni has been instrumental in the establishment of the International Commodities Association.  She speaks regularly on topics relating to investing in Africa, particularly Southern Africa, and as well as the nuances of doing business across borders, and she serves on multiple corporate boards in the U.S.
