Education: Morehouse College, Atlanta, Georgia (B.A., 1974) political science and business administration, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, Pi Sigma Alpha; Howard University School of Law, Washington, D.C., with honors, law journal, 1977; Phi Alpha Delta; Elected for 2 eight year terms as City Judge for Chattanooga, Tennessee (1991 - 2003), retired on May 2, 2003; previously partner in the law firm of McClarty & Williams (1980 - 1991); full-time Assistant Professor of Business Law at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (1980 - 1988); Senior Staff Attorney, Regional Counselor's Office, Internal Revenue Service, Atlanta, Georgia (1977 - 1980).

Member: Chattanooga Bar Association; American Bar Association (Judicial Council); National Bar Association (Judicial Council); alumnus, National Judicial College; Tennessee General Sessions Judges' Conference.

MWH offers the talents of retired Judge Walter F. Williams.  Judge Williams was raised in the Westside housing project of Chattanooga and attended Chattanooga public schools. 

He served for twelve years on the bench and was a pioneer in local court reform.  Judge Williams has worked tirelessly throughout his career to assist under-privileged students to complete a high school and college education. 

Judge Williams has been recognized for his accomplishments in articles published in Southern Living Magazine, Readers’ Digest, Newsweek, and Jet Magazine.  True to his life’s mission to help others, his current practice area is focused on meeting the varied legal needs of his clients whether in the areas  of estate planning, representation in personal injury cases, contract drafting, or criminal representation.
